Who we are
Lingyue Limited Inc. (“Lingyue”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in Taiwan. We develop and operate the NovaVMS video-management platform, of which the NovaVMS mobile app is the official client.

What we collect
When you use the NovaVMS mobile app, we collect and process the following data:
- Account information — email address, hashed password, display name (provided at registration).
- Authentication tokens — short-lived bearer tokens stored locally on your device (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore via
expo-secure-store). - Push notification tokens — APNs (Apple) or FCM (Google) device tokens, used solely to deliver alerts about cameras you own.
- Camera media — live and recorded video and audio streamed from cameras you have paired with NovaVMS. This data flows from your cameras → your gateway → the NovaVMS cloud → your devices. It is yours; we do not share it with third parties.
- Talkdown audio — when you use the push-to-talk feature, audio is captured from your device microphone and streamed to the camera you are talking to. It is not retained.
- Crash and error reports — anonymized stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version sent to Sentry to diagnose bugs. No personal data is included.
- Server-side request logs — IP address, user agent, request path. Retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
We do not collect: contacts, location (GPS), phone-camera photos or videos, advertising IDs, or any data for advertising.
How we use the data
Strictly to provide the NovaVMS service to you: authenticate you, deliver your camera streams to your devices, send you push notifications about events on your cameras, and diagnose problems.
Permissions
CAMERA— not used to access the device camera. Reserved for a future QR-code-based pairing flow. The app does not access your phone camera in v1.4.0.RECORD_AUDIO— used only when you tap and hold the push-to-talk button to speak through a camera’s speaker. Audio is streamed live to the camera and not retained.POST_NOTIFICATIONS— used to deliver alerts about events on your cameras.

We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or analytics brokers.
Data retention
- Account data: retained until you delete your account.
- Recorded camera video: retained according to your configured retention policy (default 30 days), stored on your gateway and/or cloud per your settings.
- Crash reports: retained for 90 days by Sentry.
- Server logs: retained for up to 30 days.
Your rights
Under Taiwan’s Personal Information Protection Act (個人資料保護法 / PIPA) and applicable laws in your jurisdiction, you may at any time:
- Inquire about, review, or obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or supplementation of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your personal data and the cessation of its collection, processing, or use.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with your request. We will respond within 30 days.
For account deletion specifically, email the subject line “Delete my NovaVMS account”. For data export, use “Export my NovaVMS data”. We will action these within 14 days.
International data transfers
The NovaVMS cloud is hosted on infrastructure in the United States and Europe. By using the service, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards.
Children
NovaVMS is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We will post material changes here and update the Effective date above.
