Keyboard shortcuts

All shortcuts are available in the NovaVMS web app on supported browsers (see supported browsers). Use the Cmd key on macOS where the table lists Ctrl.

Global

Available from any page.

Shortcut	Action
Ctrl+K / Cmd+K	Open the global search palette
Escape	Close a modal, dialog, or expanded view

Global search palette

Once the palette is open (Ctrl+K).

Shortcut	Action
Up arrow / Down arrow	Navigate through results
Enter	Open the selected result
Escape	Close the palette

Results are grouped by category — Cameras, Sites, Users, Settings, Recent Events — with a maximum of 5 results per category and a “View all” link. Settings search is local; everything else queries the backend. Results appear as you type with a 150 ms debounce.

Video player

Available whenever a video player is on screen (live view, event detail, clip detail).

Space	Play / pause
Left arrow	Step one frame backward
Right arrow	Step one frame forward
F	Toggle fullscreen

Live view grid

Available on the Live page only.

Shortcut	Action
Escape	Exit expanded camera view, return to grid
Left arrow / Right arrow	Navigate grid pages when no tile is expanded
